SHREVEPORT, La. --Centenary men’s soccer coach David Orr announced that on Wednesday, Mar. 6 Christopher Mathews and Joshua Lichtenwalner completed the necessary paperwork and deposit with intent to attend Centenary College of Louisiana.

“I am very excited to have Joshua and Chris joining our squad,” Orr said. “Joshua's a great midfield talent and he'll upgrade our team right away. Joshua brings a lot of talent and experience to the Gents’ team and Chris will add much needed depth to our goalkeeper position.”

Lichtenwalner is a two-time, all-district selection and 2010 Defensive Player of the Year at Robert M. Shoemaker High School in Killeen, Texas while Matthews joins the squad from Lakeside High School in Lake Village, Arkansas.

“Chris is the hardest working player on the field,Christopher Matthews” said LHS Head Coach Alyssa Bodine. “He’s always trying to improve his game.”

“Josh was a captain for two years. He always showed the leadership and desire it took to succeed at this level,” said Shoemaker Head Coach Greg Jordan. “Though as a program we often struggled, he always stood out as both a leader and player.”
