Dicken joins Centenary staff

SHREVEPORT, La. – Centenary College of Louisiana and the Department of Athletic and Wellness has announced James Dicken as the new Associate Director of Wellness and Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach.

“It is my pleasure to accept the positions of Associate Director of Wellness/Assistant Men's Lacrosse coach at Centenary,” said Dicken. “It has been a dream of mine to work in collegiate athletics and I am very grateful for the opportunity.  Everyone I met during my interview, not limited to but including Ronda Seagraves, Jeremy Lichtig, and Dr. Dan Seymour were incredibly nice and had genuine enthusiasm about the ideas I brought to the table.  I look forward to getting down to Shreveport and starting my new career at Centenary very soon.”

“James will bring his experience in facility and wellness management, as well as, the sport of lacrosse to the campus,” Director of Athletic and Wellness Ronda Seagraves said. “James’ responsibilities will be centered in growing and developing expanded wellness opportunities at the Centenary Fitness Center along with assisting Coach Jeremy Lichtig with the first year men’s lacrosse program.”

Dicken comes to Shreveport after serving as a supervisor in the Carl and Deloris Petty Sports and Recreation Complex at Missouri Baptist University. The McHenry, Ill., native also served as the assistant men’s lacrosse coach at MBU.

During his time at MBU he worked as a staff manager in the SRC and helped maintain public relations and rapport with facility users along with assistance on the maintenance of the equipment. He also helped guide the Spartans to a combined 17-14 record in the Great Rivers Lacrosse Conference.

Prior to his time at Missouri Baptist Dicken served as an operations manager for Top Right Sports in Cary, Ill.

Dicken received his Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Business Administration and Management from Augustana College in 2008. He completed his Masters of Science in Sports Management at MBU in 2012.
