Henry named SCAC Pitcher of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Centenary’s Taylor Henry was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The Bossier City, La., native recorded his third win of the season with a complete-game, 11-1 victory on Saturday. The sophomore surrendered just one run in eight innings of work on five hits.

The Gents pitching staff held the top hitting team in the conference to a .278 average at the dish holding the Tigers to just nine runs on the weekend, including just one run in the nightcap on Saturday anchored by Henry’s complete-game performance.

Henry becomes the second Gents’ pitcher to receive the conference’s weekly pitching award and the third to receive a weekly accolade from the SCAC joining pitcher Layton Tromba and infielder Ben Schweinfurth.

Centenary returns to the diamond on Tuesday, Mar. 12 against LeTourneau. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m at Shehee Stadium.
