Gymtalk with the Freshmen
Friday, March 15, 2013

Hello Centenary gymnastics fans! It’s your favorite freshmen Rachel, Rachael, Casie, Kellie, Stephanie, Megan, and Ronni bringing you the latest gymtalk! This past weekend the Ladies traveled to Minnesota to compete against the University of Minnesota, the University of Arkansas, and the University of Nebraska. It was so much fun to compete in a big arena with MVP of our team! Way to go Robs! Shout out to seniors Chimi Martinez and Meg Crowley for twisting their vaults for the first time! Jessica (Juicy) did a phenomenal bar routine with a perfect, stuck, double layout dismount off bars! Freshman, Kellie Slater rocked floor when she competed her first double back in her college career.

The trip was so much fun! When we arrived on Friday we were welcomed to Minnesota with a delicious homemade meal from senior, Amanda Holt’s parents! Thank you so much Mr. and Mrs. Holt for your hospitality and great home cooking! On Saturday, before the meet Mr. and Mrs. Hadd surprised us with a couple of fun games where we had the chance to win some cool prizes! Thanks again Mr. and Mrs. Hadd!

On Sunday we were able to go to the Mall of America! We had the chance to go to the aquarium, ride the rollercoasters, and shop at the many different stores. We were really sad when we had to leave to go to the airport. The airport seemed to pick up on this vibe…let’s just say the adventure home was not as fun as the trip there. Even though it was an eventful journey home, time spent with the Ladies is time well spent!

The team is looking forward to having a week off to rest our bodies before the big conference meet that we are hosting at the Gold Dome! Hope to see all of you there on March 23, it will be a really fun night filled with impressive gymnastics! Stay tuned for next week’s gymtalk with Christine!
