SHREVEPORT, La – The Centenary softball team fell Thursday evening to Jackson State University 15-0 at the Centenary Softball Complex. The Lady Tigers (11-20) built an early lead scoring six runs in the first and second innings and had 15 hits on the night.

The Ladies’ (1-19) best opportunity to score came in the fourth inning with two of their three hits coming off the bats of Cadie Hancock and Lauren Swift. Swift’s double got Hancock and her in scoring position, but the Maroon and White left them stranded. Lynsi Unruh collected the other hit in the contest.

Canessa Swanson and Sabeana Romero led JSU in hitting with three hits apiece. Lauren Aikens was the other Lady Tiger with a multi-hit game with two.

Jasmine Warren (2-4) got the win in the circle for JSU. She tossed 4.0 innings allowing no runs on three hits and struck out three. Lauren Ortiz pitched the final inning.

Lynsi Unruh (1-11) took the loss starting and surrendering seven earned runs on nine hits in 1.2 innings. Lindsey Sconce finished the game going 3.1 innings and allowing three earned runs on six hits.

Centenary opens conference play on Saturday with a doubleheader against Southwestern University. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
