SHREVEPORT, La – The Centenary softball team returns to the field Saturday, Mar. 23 to open conference play against Southwestern University in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. The series concludes Sunday with a doubleheader slated for12 p.m.

The four game series this weekend concludes a stretch of eight contests in seven days. It also will be the debut for the Maroon and White in the Southern Collegiate Athletics Conference.

The Ladies dropped Thursday’s game to Jackson State University 15-0 at home, and are looking to snap an 11-game slide.

Two players for Centenary are batting over .300. Lauren Swift continues to hold the highest average at .451. Lynsi Unruh increased hers over the past few games to .321.

Cadie Hancock remains in front with three homeruns and a team high 10 RBI. Swift follows in run production with two homers and five RBI. Erin Crites and Emma Viskozki have four RBI each. Abbie Woods is three-for-five with an RBI seeing action in two of the four games this week.

After the series conclusion, Centenary gets a week off before traveling to Irving, Texas to face the University of Dallas. The first doubleheader of the four-game set is Saturday, Mar. 30 beginning at 1 p.m.
