SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary baseball team returns to the diamond for the first of three-games this week. The Gents (18-7) visit LeTourneau at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 26.

The Maroon and White toppled the Yellowjackets 16-6 in their previous meeting this season at Shehee Stadium.

Six Gents recorded multiple hits in the outing with four recording multiple RBI. Ryan Gasporra, Tyler Clakley, Jemari James, Craig Littleman, Adam VanDenLangenberg and Zachary Stephenson all finished the night with two hits. Gasporra, Clakley, Littleman and Christian Sebastien each drove in two runs.

Paul Arcement (1-0) tossed 5.0 innings in the win allowing two runs on five hits. Arcement toed the rubber for a majority of the contest to lead the way for five Centenary hurlers that saw action.

The Gents are coming off a pair of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victories over Southwestern over the weekend. The squad totaled 38 runs in the two contests to best the Pirates by a combined 26 runs.

James continues to pace the Gents at the dish with a .450 batting average. The reigning SCAC Player of the Week, Littleman has a team-leading 38 hits and sits second on the team with 24 RBI. Clakley holds the team mark for RBI with 28 on the season and is tied with Gasporra for the team lead in homeruns at two each. Sebastien and Matt Creamer have each tallied 20-plus RBI this season with 22 and 20 respectively.

Cole Thompson and Layton Tromba lead the hurlers with innings on the bump with 47 and 46.2 innings respectively. Thompson paces the pitchers with 37 strikeouts – the only Gent with 30-plus. Arecement leads the pitching staff with a 1.63 ERA while tying for the team lead in appearances with eight.

Following the midweek affair, Centenary returns to the diamond on Thursday, Mar. 28 at Trinity in the first of two contests with the Tigers.
