Ladies meet LSU-Alexandria Wednesday

SHREVEPORT, La – The Centenary softball team returns to action for a doubleheader against LSU-Alexandria on Wednesday, Apr. 3 at 5 p.m. at the Centenary Softball Complex. The twinbill continues a stretch of 11 straight games played at home since last weekend’s road series at University of Dallas got rescheduled.

Last time out, the Maroon and White (2-22) dropped a four game series against Southwestern University taking game one on a walk-off homerun by Cadie Hancock before falling in the last three.

Lauren Swift had an excellent series, including two homeruns and six RBI in the 9-6 loss in the last game. She is now tied with Hancock in homeruns and RBI on the season with four and 13 respectively. Lindsey Sconce also went 4-for-10 and had three RBI that weekend.

Centenary faced the Generals (15-23) earlier this season dropping both contests 4-3 on the road. LSUA enters Wednesday’s series on an eight game losing skid, including being swept in a doubleheader 3-2 and 8-2 to Houston-Victoria last Friday.

Two players for the Maroon and White remain batting over .300 with Swift pacing the team at .452 and Lynsi Unruh following at .308. Erin Crites has a solid .273 average.

Next up for Centenary is a conference series at home against Austin College beginning Saturday, Apr. 6-7 at 1 p.m.
