SHREVEPORT, La – The Centenary Softball team will open a four game series against conference foe, Austin College, starting Saturday, Apr. 6-7 at 1 p.m. at the Centenary Softball Complex. The series is the second straight SCAC opponent and is amongst a stretch of 11 straight at home.

The Ladies (2-22, 1-3 SCAC) have gotten some extra time off since there last two series have been rescheduled at University of Dallas and earlier this week against LSU-Alexandria.

In its first SCAC series in history, Centenary dropped three of four, with its only victory coming in game one off a Cadie Hancock walk-off homerun. Laruen Swift also had a nice series; including hitting back-to-back three run homers in a 9-6 loss that was the finale.

Swift caught up to Hancock in run production to tie her with four homeruns and 13 RBI. She remains in front as one of two batters with a .300 average or higher at .452. Lynsi Unruh is the other at .308 for the Maroon and White.

Austin College (3-20, 0-3 SCAC) enters the weekend having dropped five straight. The Roos were swept by Trinity with only completed three of the four games being completed. The latest game was a 7-1 defeat.

Also on Sunday, the Ladies will be honoring four seniors: Jenny King, Jessica McDonald, Lindsey Sconce, and Swift for "Senior Day." 

After this series, Centenary looks to makeup two of the four games against the University of Dallas. The twinbill will be at the Centenary Softball Complex Wednesday, Apr. 10 beginning at 5 p.m. The remaining two games will be played the following week at Dallas.
