SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary baseball team concludes its 2013 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, regular season slate this weekend as the Gents travel to the University of Dallas for a pair of contests. First pitch Saturday and Sunday is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The Maroon and White have split the last six outings leading into the weekend following a 10-2 setback to cross-town foe Louisiana State University-Shreveport. Centenary has taken the last seven contests in conference play.

The Gents boast three of the top hitters in the SCAC led by Jemari James’, conference leading .411 batting average. Craig Littleman ranks fourth on the team with a .384 average followed by Tyler Clakley’s .346 clip at the dish which sits sixth. Littleman and Clakley each have 45-plus hits on the season at 48 and 47 respectively with James collecting 39 hits – all ranked among the top 10 in the conference.

Clakley ranks second in the conference with 39 RBI on the campaign while Littleman ranks third with 31. Christian Sebastien sits eighth in the conference with 26 RBI on the season joining the duo among the league leaders.

The Maroon and White will also send two of the top pitchers in the conference to the hill on the weekend as Layton Tromba and Cole Thompson have combined for 11 Gents’ wins with Thompson posting an unblemished 5-0 mark.

Thompson, the reigning SCAC Pitcher of the Week, has logged 56 strikeouts on the season, including nine in his last performance.  Tromba ranks eighth in the league with 32 fanned batters on the season.

The Crusaders have dropped four straight entering the weekend, including two at nationally-ranked Trinity.

Tug McRoberts leads UD with a .363 and is fourth on the team in hits with 33 hits. Andrew Bossert has tossed six complete games and picked six wins in the process while fanning a team-best 47 hits.

Following the final, conference series of the season Centenary will return back to Shreveport to battle LSUS on Tuesday, Apr. 23 on the Pilots’ homefield. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
