Clakley, Littleman named to LSWA All-Louisiana College Baseball Team

SHREVEPORT, La. – A pair of Centenary baseball players were named to the Louisiana Sports Writers Association 2013 All-Louisiana College Baseball Team. Senior outfielder Tyler Clakley was named to the second team with Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Year and senior third basemen Craig Littleman named honorable mention.

The duo helped guide the Gents to a 26-15 mark on the season en route to the top seed in the SCAC Baseball Championship and a runner-up finish.

Clakley led the squad in batting average (.373), hits (62), RBI (48), triples (5), homeruns (3) and recorded a team-best 23 multiple-hit efforts along with 10 multi-RBI outings. The First Team All-SCAC performer also ranked third in runs (34) and walks (16) while standing fourth in on-base percentage (.431). Clakley was named to SCAC All-Tournament Team and was named conference player of the week during his senior season.

Littleman paced the Maroon and White in doubles (16) and slugging percentage (.571) while ranking second in hits (54), RBI (35), triples (4) and homeruns (2). The Lechee, Ariz., product ranked third I batting average (.367), on-base percentage (.435) and was fourth on the team in runs (33). He tallied 15 multiple-hit performances and seven multi-RBI efforts. Along with being named the conference’s co-player of the year, he was also named to theSCAC’s first team and was the SCAC Player of the Week.

The 33-member team was voted on by sports information directors and media members from across the state. Ten schools from across the state were represented on the list.
