SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee’s involvement with the Special Olympics has been nominated for June’s NCAA Division III Special Olympics Spotlight Poll. Centenary’s SAAC unified flag football game on Apr. 13 is featured in the poll.

The NCAA Division III Special Olympics Spotlight Poll is a story-telling initiative located on ncaa.org/D3SpecialOlympics.  It features three new stories per month – each highlighting a Division III and Special Olympics joint activity or event.

Fans are encouraged to vote daily through July 25 with the poll closing at 10 p.m. ET. The winning institution or conference will be given $500 to use for its next Special Olympics event. Other perks for winning include being recognized in the Division III Monthly Newsletter and on the Division III Special Olympics website.

“We are proud that the Centenary College student-athletes have embraced the spirit and great work of Special Olympics,” said Director of Athletics and Wellness Ronda Seagraves. “Our SAAC is responsible for reaching many of the Shreveport-Bossier Special Olympians and the organizations that support Special Olympics through their volunteerism and DIII initiative programming.  Way to go Ladies and Gents!”
