SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary women’s soccer prepares for its first road contest of the 2013 season as the Ladies travel to Louisiana College on Thursday, Sept. 5. The match is scheduled for 5 p.m.

The Maroon and White are coming off a 2-1 setback to East Texas Baptist in the season opener last Friday.

Madison Alexander picked up where she left off in her freshman season scoring the Ladies lone goal in the 20th minute. The Keller, Texas, sophomore took two of the Maroon and White’s four shots on the night with both her attempts coming on goal. Amanda Atwell took the remaining two shots for the Ladies with one on goal.

Freshman Erica Coker (0-1) was saddled with the loss in her debut. The Frisco, Texas, product warned off 11 of the 18 ETBU shots on the night despite allowing two goals. The Blue and Gold placed 13 shots on goal in the effort.

Thursday’s tilt marks the home opener for the Blue and Orange after suffering two losses in Conway, Ark., last week. LC dropped a 2-0 decision to Central Baptist to open its campaign followed by a 3-2 stumble to Hendrix.

Pamela Usry and Taylor Bergeron supplied the lone, two goals for the Wildcats on the season. Danielle Paulsen has registered 135 minutes in net for LC allowing three goals and tallying three saves. Brittany Dowdy has served in net for the remaining 45 minutes of the year allowing two goals.

Following the Thursday contest, Centenary returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 8 at Wiley College with a 1 p.m. start time.
