SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary men’s soccer look to grab its first win of the 2013 campaign in the first, road outing of the season as the Gents travel to Louisiana College on Thursday, Sept. 5. The match is slated for 7 p.m.

The Maroon and White stumbled in its season opener, falling 2-1 to East Texas Baptist. Daryn Beaugh’s unassisted goal in the waning moments of the match nipped the Tigers’ lead to a goal. The shot was the only one taken on the night by the junior and just one of seven taken on the evening for the Gents.

Cullen Gallet and Chris Berrios led the Gents with two shots each on the night as Cole Davidson and Mark Samadh tallied one apiece.

Centenary goalkeeper Austin Andrews (0-1) went the entire 90 minutes in net warning on five, Tiger shot attempts.

LC (1-1) enters its home opener after claiming a 1-0 victory over Piedmont College in its last outing. The Wildcats only loss on the ledger came in a 4-0 decision to Berry College.

Phillip Borde stands as the lone goal scorer for the Blue and Orange on the season off an assist from Fellipe Albuquerque in the 23rd minute against PC. Travis Alexander and Cameron Vauclin have split time in net for the Wildcats. Vauclin earned the win a save against PC. Alexander allowed all four goals in the outing against Berry.

Following Thursday’s tilt, Centenary returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 11 as the Gents open Southern Collegiate Athletic action against Austin College. Match time is slared for 7 p.m. at Mayo Field.
