Centenary finishes eighth at TWU Hawks

FORT WORTH, Texas – The Centenary women’s golf team finished in eighth at the TWU Hawks Creek Invitational  with an overall score of 670. The Ladies improved their day-two total by four strokes to move past McMurry University.

Jamie Wright shot a team-best 78 in the final round to finish the tournament with a score of 163 – one shot behind team leader Taylor Thompson. Thompson, who shot an 82 in the final round, finished the event in a tie for 28th while Wright finished in 31st.

Sarah Bradshaw finished with a two-day total of 172 – in a tie for 44th - after firing an 89 in the final round. Kylee Goldthorn finished one stroke back of Bradshaw in the tournament after improving by five strokes (84) to finish in 47th. Jessica Thigpen rounded out the Ladies competitors with a two-day total of 192 following a 93 in the final round.

Cameron University staked claim to the team title after winning a three team playoff including Incarnate Word and Oklahoma Christian with a score of 598. OCU’s Audrey Meisch won the individual title with a two-day score of 144.

Centenary returns to the links on Monday, Sept. 30 at Texas-Tyler.
