IRVING, Texas – Despite outshooting the University of Dallas, a penalty kick proved the difference as the Centenary men’s soccer team fell 1-0 to UD on Friday afternoon. The loss marks the seventh of the season for the Gents.

Matt Wise scored the lone goal of the contest after being fouled in the box in the 33rd minute. The shot was one of two by Wise on the night and one of 14 by UD in the outing.

The Maroon and White outshot the Crusaders 18-14 on the afternoon, including holding an 11-4 advantage with shots on goals.

Clinton Azeez and Cole Davidson each posted five shots to pace the offensive attack. Kellan Klaus and Mark Samadh each tallied two shots in the effort.

Austin Andrews (0-5) was saddled with the loss for the Gents garnering three saves in the contest.

P.J. Hasson (5-2) claimed the win for the Crusaders with 11 saves in goal.

Centenary returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 22 as the Gents travel to Colorado College. Match time is set for 2 p.m.
