IRVING, Texas – The Centenary volleyball team dropped its first contest at the University of Dallas this weekend with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-10, 25-16) loss to Colorado College on Friday evening.

The setsback moves the Ladies to 1-9 on the season and marks the first Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference loss of the year.

Sarah Sumner led the Maroon and White with six kills on the night and a team-best six digs. Brooke Bahlinger and Lindsey Long each tallied five kills in the effort. Bahlinger along with Beth Nuttall, who added 11 assists, and Rachel Perkins combined for 15 digs.

The Ladies out-attacked the Black and Gold 82-71 in the effort.

Abbie Holtze posted nine kills to lead the Tigers. Emily Phillips added a team-best eight digs while Devon Lucero assisted on 19 of CC’s scores on the night.

Centenary returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 21 as the Ladies face the host Crusaders at 12:30 p.m. and close out the weekend at 5 p.m. against Austin College.
