Gents finish ninth at Al Jones Jr. Memorial Invitational

TYLER, Texas – The Centenary men’s golf team finished ninth at the Al Jones Jr. Memorial Invitational. The Gents accumulated a two-day total of 620 after shooting 307 in the final round.

Hank Strickler was the top finisher for the Maroon and White with a score of 153 for the invitational. Strickler improved his day two score by one stroke to finish tied for 26th. Jamie Gibson fired a 78 in the final round to post a score of 155 that placed him in a tie for 31st with Reese Chance. Chance shot a 76 in the final round - improving his score by three strokes.

Larry Balthazar finished three strokes back of Chance and Gibson with for the two-day event as he shot a 77 – improving his first day score by four strokes. Arni Sigurdsson rounded out the Gents with a 162 for the event after shooting an 82 in the final round.

Centenary returns to the links on Oct. 21 as the Gents take part in the Millsaps College Tournament.
