Ladies finish third at Al Jones Jr. Memorial Invitational

TYLER, Texas – The Centenary women’s golf team finished third at the Al Jones Jr. Memorial Invitational. The Ladies, who shot a 325 in the final round, totaled a two-day score of 654 after improving its first day score by four strokes.

Taylor Thompson and Jamie Wright finished the even tied for sixth to lead the Maroon and White. Thompson shot a 76 in the final round – improving by six strokes for a score of 158. Wright matched her score of 79 from the first day.

Sarah Bradshaw finished 14th after with a two-day total of 164 after shooting an 86 on the final round. Kylee Goldthorn shot an 84 on the final day to finish 26th with a two-day score of 174. Jessica Thigpen rounded out the Ladies with 90 in the final round to finish 36th with a score of 189.

The University of Texas-Tyler claimed the team title with a score of 615 with Texas Wesleyan in second with a score of 637. TWU’s Alexis Belton claimed the individual crown with a two-day score of 151.

Centenary returns to the links on Oct. 6 as the Ladies take part in the Birmingham-Southern Tournament.
