Thompson finishes in top 10; Ladies finish seventh at BSC Southern Shootout

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Taylor Thompson finishes in the top 10 to lead the Centenary women’s golf team to a seventh place finish at the Birmingham-Southern, Southern Shootout.

Thompson improved her first day total by four strokes with a 74 in the final round to finish the two-day event with a score of 153. The freshman claimed her first top 10 finish of her collegiate career to assist the Ladies to move up two spots in the team standings.

Jamie Wright fired a 77 in the final round to finish the event with a score of 156 and tied for 21st. The final day score was two strokes better than her opening round score of 79 which had her in a tie with Thompson at 21st.

Sarah Bradshaw moved up the individuals ranks with an 81 in the final round to finish tied for 45th. Bradshaw fired an opening day score of 88 to complete her two-day total of 169. Kylee Goldthorn finished two strokes back of Bradshaw in a tie for 48th. Goldthorn improved her opening day score by one stroke with an 85 in the final round. Jessica Thigpen also improved her score firing a 92 in the final round for a two-day total of 185 and tied for 64th.

Rhodes College defeated the Cumberlands in a team playoff to claim the title. The Lynx shot a 603 in the event and moved past CU and Lee University for the win. Sewanee’s Emily Javadi defeated Sarah Dolmovich in an individual playoff to win the individual medalist honors. Javadi shot a 147 for the event.
