KERRVILLE, Texas – The Centenary men’s soccer team allowed two, second half goals in 2-0 loss at Schreiner on Sunday afternoon. The loss sets the Gents back to 0-14 and 0-9 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action.

The two squads squared off for 45 minutes in the opening half, both unwilling to budge, but a Ryan Hernandez goal off an assist from Justin Edwards broke the deadlock and placed the Mountaineers up one score early in the second half. The shot, one of three taken by Hernandez on the day, was one of 14 attempted by SU.

Cody Hollingshead added an insurance goal less than six minutes later off an assist from Kelan Robinson.

Rylan Whan was saddled with the loss for the Gents accounting for both goals surrendered along with one save. Austin Andrews drew the start for the Maroon and White.

The Maroon and White attempted six shots in the effort with Kellan Klaus leading the way with three attempts.

Centenary returns to action on Friday, Oct. 18 as the Gents host Trinity at 8 p.m. The event is part of the SCAC’s 8in8 promotional tour.
