SHREVEPORT, La. – A Laurie Priftis goal in the first three minutes of the contest proved enough as the Centenary women’s soccer team grabbed a 1-0 victory over the University of Dallas on Senior Night at Mayo Field. The win improved the Ladies to 4-12-2 overall and 2-9 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play while UD fell to 6-11 and 4-7 in the conference.

The score by the Rowlett, Texas, native was her first of the season and came at the 2:20 mark in the opening half off her only shot attempt of the contest.

Freshman Erica Coker logged her fourth win of the season in goal for the Maroon and White grabbing four saves in the full 90 minutes of action.

Carly Slovensky and Traci Lee led Centenary with three shots each in the effort as the squad attempted 13 shots. Lee, who was honored prior to the contest along fellow seniors Jackie Argueta and Justine Russell, placed one on goal. Slovensky’s three attempts each were on target.

Brigid Hasson (5-11) received the loss in goal for the Crusaders allowing the lone goal and recording five saves on the night.

UD took 11 shots on the night with Nicole Johnson leading the team with four attempts.

The victory came in the final, home outing for Ladies’ head coach Glenn Evans as the Centenary Hall of Famer concludes his 43-year career at his alma mater this season.

Centenary closes out the regular season on Friday, Nov. 1 at Noon at Austin College.
