Alexander, Coker tabbed with SCAC honors

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Centenary women’s soccer players Madison Alexander and Erica Coker were named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for their efforts against Austin College.

The duo helped propel the Ladies into the SCAC Championship with their efforts last week.

Alexander scored both goals for the Ladies in the 2-1, overtime win against the Roos. The Keller, Texas, native joins Carly Slovensky as the only two Ladies to record multiple-goal efforts this season. For the season, Alexander is second on the team with nine points, three goals, and three assists for the Centenary Ladies.

Coker, who claims her second conference, weekly honor, collected 10 saves en route to her fifth win of the season. The freshman faced 23 shot attempts from the Roos with 11 coming on goal in the contest. For the season, the Frisco, Texas, product ranks second in the conference in saves and is tops among freshmen keepers this season with 107.

Centenary returns to action on Friday, Nov. 8 as the Ladies take on Texas Lutheran at 3:30 p.m. in Seguin, Texas.
