SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary women’s basketball team dropped to 0-2 on the season after a 67-40 loss to Louisiana State University-Shreveport on Tuesday evening. The Pilots improved to 4-1 on the campaign.

Briana Edwards posted a double-double in the decision with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Rhonda Martin added 11 points.

The Ladies were held to 26.4-percent from the floor and were forced into 26 turnovers.

LSUS took a 25-12 lead into the intermission after closing out the half on a 13-0 run that covered eight minutes. The Pilots shot 45.3-percent from the field, including nearly 58-percent in the second stanza.

Bryoneshia Santiago and Victoria Smith tied for the team lead with 15 points each. Smith grabbed a team-best 11 rebounds for a double-double on the evening. Ariel Harrell rounded out the double figure producers with 10 points.

Centenary returns to action on Friday, Nov. 22, as the Ladies travel to the Mississippi College hosted Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament. Centenary opens the two-day event against Rust at 5:30 p.m.
