CLINTON, Miss. – The Centenary women’s basketball team dropped a 98-47 decision at Mississippi College on Saturday afternoon to fall to 0-5 on the season. The Choctaws improve to 2-1 on the campaign.

Freshmen Haley Deshautelle and Lizzie Moran paced the Ladies in scoring. Deshautelle posted her second straight contest with double figures leading the way with 17 points – a point shy of tying her career-high. Moran added 11 points for the Maroon and White – a career-high for the Toledo Bend, La., native. Kayla Ruth grabbed a team-best and season-high eight rebounds.

Centenary, which never led in the contest, shot 27.3-percent from the field in the contest and were 2-for-14 from behind the arc. MC connected on 56-percent of its shots and 2-of-6 from three-point land.

The Choctaws, which led by as much as 52 in the contest, placed four players in double-digits scoring led by 17 from Dominque Walker who also grabbed a team-leading 13 rebounds for one of two double-doubles for the Blue and Gold. Olivia Mabry pulled down 10 boards and dished out 11 assists in the effort.

Carey Cozier (15 pts.), Cara Beverin (14 pts.) and Cassie Berry (12 pts.) also scored in double-digits.

Centenary returns to action on Friday, Dec. 6 as the Ladies open Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action against Austin College. Tip-off at the Gold Dome is scheduled for 8 p.m.
