LAFAYETTE, La. – The Centenary men’s basketball team dropped a 103-69 decision on Tuesday evening to the University of Louisiana-Lafayette in the Cajundome. The setback snaps a three-game win streak for the Maroon and White as it falls to 4-2 on the season. ULL improves to 8-3 on the campaign.

Jonathan Blount led the Gents with 28 points – tying a season-high. Kendall Demouchet added 17 points – two shy of his career-high 19 points set Saturday against Open Bible College. Demouchet tied Caden Cheramie with a team-best four rebounds.

Centenary shot 42 percent from the field including a season-best 46.7 clip from behind the arc in the contest. The shooting percentage from the floor marks the fourth time this season that the Gents have shot 40 percent or better.

The Ragin Cajuns held a plus-nine advantage on the glass while shooting just shy of 64 percent from the floor and connecting on 69.6 percent from the charity stripe. Centenary connected on 63.6 percent from the free-throw line marking a season-low.

Shawn Long paced the Red and Black with 30 points and also grabbed a team-leading seven rebounds. Kasey Shepherd added 19 with Elfrid Payton tabbing in 15 points. Kevin Brown rounded out the double figure scorers with 11 points.
