SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary women’s basketball team dropped a 65-47 decision to Louisiana College on Monday evening at the Gold Dome. The Ladies fall to 0-8 on the season while LC improves to 6-1.

Briana Edwards paced the Maroon and White with her fifth double-double of the campaign. The Shreveport, La., native tallied 14 points and 19 rebounds – both game highs. DeiAnna Hall added 13 points while Haley Deshautelle grabbed a career-high 18 boards.

The Ladies held a plus-four advantage on the glass (65-61).

Centenary grabbed as much as a nine-point lead early in the contest after jumping out to an 8-0 advantage, but the Wildcats erased the margin grabbing their first lead of the outing with 7:52 remaining in the opening the stanza on a layup by Natosha Morvant. LC pressed its advantage to as much as an eight point lead with less than two minutes to play in the first 20 minutes.

The Blue and Orange claimed its first double-digit lead of the game in the opening minutes of the second half and posted its largest lead at 22 points with 4:32 left in the contest.

Kaci Willis led the ‘Cats wth 11 points while Neka Jones added 10 points. Morvant paced LC on the glass with 13 rebounds.

The Ladies shot 22 percent from the field while LC connected on 32.9 percent of its shot from the floor.

Centenary returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 4 as the Ladies travel to Hendrix College. Tip is slated for 2 p.m.
