COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Centenary women’s basketball team fell 73-54 at Colorado College on Sunday afternoon. The Ladies stumble to 0-11 overall and 0-2 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play. The Tigers improve to 1-12 and 1-2 in conference action.

For the second consecutive out Lizzie Moran paced the Maroon and White in scoring with 14 points. Briana Edwards joined the freshman in double-digits with 10 points and a team-best 12 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the season.

The Tigers placed four players in double figures led by 16 points from Courtney Tyus. Korbyn Ukasick added 12 points with Katie Wirth providing 10 points. Danielle Davis finished the night with 11 points and a team-leading 11 rebounds to round out the quartet.

Colorado College jumped out to a 16-5 lead with 13:09 to play in the opening 20 minutes, but the Ladies proceeded to work away at the deficit and pulled within a point on two occasions – the last coming with 4:24 left in the half. However the Tigers closed the final minutes of the period out on a 10-1 run to take a 32-22 lead in at the break.

Centenary cut the deficit to 36-32 in the opening minutes of the second half, but the Tigers again answered running the lead back out to double figures with 14:39 left to play at 45-34. The Black and Gold continued to press the advantage the remainder of the way grabbing its largest lead at 69-47 with 3:33 left in the affair.

Centenary returns to action on Friday, Jan. 17 as the Ladies travel to Trinity University. Tip is scheduled for 8 p.m.
