SHREVEPORT, La. – Double-double efforts from Rebecca Thompson and Briana Edwards weren’t enough as the Centenary women’s basketball team dropped an 83-57 decision on Saturday evening to Colorado College to fall to 0-22 on the season and 0-13 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Edwards and Thompson each finished with 13 points leading a quartet of Ladies in double figures. Edwards paced the unit with 16 rebounds while Thompson grabbed 11 boards. The double-double was the ninth of the season for Edwards and the second for Thompson.

Kayla Ruth grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds while Rhonda Martin added 11 points with 10 coming from Haley Deshautelle.

In total the Ladies grabbed 61 rebounds which are second on the campaign behind a 65 effort against Louisiana College earlier this season.

Centenary finished the night shooting just shy of 23 percent from the field in the loss and were 3 for 21 from behind the arc.

Colorado College marched out to a 20-9 lead seven minutes into the contest and led by as many as 19 points during the opening stanza. The Tigers didn’t let off the pedal extending the deficit to as many as 26 points with 39 seconds left to play – their largest lead of the game.

The Black and Gold finished the night connecting on 50 percent of its shots from the field and 2 for 4 from the three-point line.

Katie Waters led the Tigers with 25 points off the bench while Korbyn Ukasick added 19 points with 18 coming from Danielle Davis. Katie Wirth finished the affair with a team-best 10 rebounds.

Centenary returns to action on Friday, Feb. 21 at Austin College. Tip is slated for 8 p.m.
