Ladies finish fourth at Linda Lowery Invitational

AUSTIN, Texas – The Centenary women’s golf team finished the 2014 Linda Lowery Invitational in fourth with a two-day score of 723. The Ladies finished six strokes ahead of the host Concordia University of Texas. Jamie Wright was the leader for the Maroon and White with a two-day total of 170.

Wright equaled her first day score of 85 to finish tied for seventh at the event.

Sarah Bradshaw remained the second, top finisher for the Ladies with a second day score of 91 to conclude the two-day event with a 180 which placed her in a tie for 16th overall.

Taylor Thompson finished the event with a 183 after improving her score by seven strokes from the day prior. Thompson finished in 20th. Jessica Thigpen improved her score by two strokes (95) and finished the invitational with a score of 192 in 26th. Kylee Goldthorn rounded out the group with a two-day score of 193 in 28th place after shooting a 98 in the final round.

The University of Texas at Tyler claimed the team crown with a two-day score of 652. Fellow SCAC member Schreiner University shot an overall score of 680 in second with Southern Arkansas University in third with a 705.

UTT swept the top three spots in the individuals with Laura Lindsey claiming the top spot with a score of 156. Jordan Sloane finished second with a 161 and Taylor Sloane in third with a 165.

Centenary returns to action on Monday, Feb. 24 as the Ladies have a dual match with Louisiana College at the Golf Club at Stonebridge in Bossier City, La.
