SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary tennis teams dropped a pair of non-conference tilts on Tuesday afternoon to Mississippi College. The Ladies fell 8-1 to the Choctaws with the Gents being swept by the fellow Division III member.

The Ladies lone win came at the No. 3 singles spot as Katelyn Alexander won 6-2, 6-0. Lauren Beurlot, Katie Cornwell and Holly Clark each claimed games in singles play, but it wasn’t enough to overturn the Blue and Gold. Alexander and Cornwell logged the only game victories in doubles play despite falling 8-2 to Allison Boyd and Shelby Wagner.

On the Gents’ side, Anthony McMasters and Garrett Whipple recorded the only game wins. The duo fell 9-8 at the No. 1 doubles spot. McMasters fell 6-4, 6-2 in the top spot in singles play with Whipple falling 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 2 singles spot.

Centenary returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 22 as the two squads travel to Millsaps for 11:30 a.m. contests.
