SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Centenary women’s basketball team concluded the 2013-14 season with an 85-59 loss in the first round of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship to top-seeded Texas Lutheran. The Ladies wrap up the season with a 0-24 record while the Bulldogs improve to 21-5.

Rebecca Thompson led the Maroon and White with 10 points and 10 rebounds in her third double-double of the season. Briana Edwards joined Benton, La., sophomore in double digits with a team-best 15 points.

Centenary shot 33.9 percent from the field including a clip of 33.3 from behind the arc in the contest.

Taylor Dydalewicz paced the Black and Gold with 17 points with 14 coming off the bench from Kristen Lye. Dydalewicz also grabbed a team-leading nine rebounds for TLU.

Texas Lutheran hit 40 percent of its shots in the outing and was 31.3 percent from three-point land.

Centenary jumped out an early 7-0 lead and maintained the advantage until the midway point of the opening half, but the top seed in the tournament wouldn’t be outdone closing the half on a 28-11 run to lead 45-29 at the break.

The Bulldogs continued to press the issue grabbing a 20-point lead in the first five minutes of the second stanza. TLU ran its margin out to as many as 28 points with 7:12 left to play.
