Gents tied for fourth at Schreiner Spring Shootout

KERRVILLE, Texas – The Centenary men’s golf team finished the opening round of the Schreiner University Spring Shootout with a score of 305. The first day total placed the Gents in a tie with Mary Hardin-Baylor in fourth.

Reese Chance led the Maroon and White through the first day with a score of 75 which places him in a tie for 11th overall with Texas Lutheran’s Adam Peterson. Jamie Gibson and Jesper Thorsoe sit a four-way tie for 13th just a stroke back of a Chance.

Larry Balthazar is tied for 25th with a first day score of 78 and Hank Strickler is in 41st with a score of 82 rounding out the Centenary grouping.

SU led the team results with an opening round score of 295 (+7) with Trinity University in second five strokes back of the host Mountaineers. Concordia (TX) University finished the first day in third two strokes ahead of Centenary and MHB.

Cheyne Kendall of SU posted a first day score of 70 to lead the individuals with Lucas Almond of Concordia and Pablo Mena Medrano of MHB tied for second with a score of 72.

Final round of the Schreiner Spring Shootout is scheduled to conclude on Tuesday.
