Hey Ladies fans!

This is sophomore, Megan Desjardins bringing you the latest news on the Centenary gymnastics team! This weekend the Ladies traveled to Kentucky to compete in a tri-meet against the University of Kentucky and the University of California at Berkley.  This was an exciting meet to compete at because it was one of our final competitions before Conference and Coach Jackie was a former Kentucky gymnast! We even got to meet Jackie’s former coach, Leah Little. She hosted us for dinner the night before the meet and told some excellent stories of when she coached Jackie.

The day before the meet, we got the chance to take a tour of a mansion that had a hidden room! The house was beautiful and historic!  The mansion had an arcade room where we played ping pong, air hockey, pool, and pinball.  It was a lot of fun and it made for some good team bonding!

On meet day, we focused on staying determined and confident in our routines.  We came together as a team to score one of our highest scores on the vault! Shout out to sophomore, Stephanie Strickler for getting a season high score of a 9.7 on the vault and sophomore, Casie Hood with a season high score on vault and bars! Way to go Ladies!

With only 1 more meet left before conference championships, the Ladies continue to improve each and every day at practice and in competitions! I can’t wait for our final meet before conference this weekend at Pittsburgh! The Ladies are going to rock it out, so stay tuned for next week’s Gymtalk!

Thanks for all the support Ladies fans!
