IRVING, Texas – The Centenary baseball team ran its win streak to six games following a pair of victories at the University of Dallas on Sunday. The Gents (9-10) downed UD 19-12 in the resumed contest from Saturday evening and then trounced the Crusaders 16-4 to claim the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference sweep.

After leading 2-0 through two innings and having the game halted, Centenary burst onto the scoreboard once the doubleheader resumed plastering 17 runs on the board including a nine-run, third frame that included a grand slam homerun by Marc Martinez to cap the inning.

The Gents placed an additional four runs on the board in the fourth inning before UD answered back with two runs in the fifth. Centenary regained the 15-run advantage in the top of the sixth, but witnessed an eight-run, bottom half of the inning to cut the lead nearly in half.
