Gymnastics posts season-high at MIC Championship

NORMAL, Ill. – The Centenary gymnastics team recorded a season-high score of 191.450 to finish sixth at the Midwest Independent Conference Championship hosted by Illinois State University. The high score surpasses the previous total of 191.050 set last weekend at the University of Pittsburgh.

Stephanie Strickler posted an all-around score of 38.900 – her best of the season – while recording season-highs on bars (9.725), beam (9.750) and floor (9.750). Sylvia Keiter posted a season-high score of 38.275 while garnering season best scores on vault (9.30) and bars (9.625) and tying a best on beam with a 9.70.

The Ladies posted a season-high on vault with a 48.275 and 48.30 on bars en route to claiming its best team score of the season. Four gymnasts recorded season-highs on vault while a quartet also set new marks on bars along with Allison Scates tying a season-best with a 9.675 in the event.

Jordan Anderson tied Strickler for the top score on the team on floor exercise with a 9.750 – marking a career-high for the freshman. Robyn Price paced the Maroon and White on vault with a season-high 9.80 while her 9.725 on bars tied Strickler for tops on the team.

Southeast Missouri State University claimed the conference title with a 195.275 with Texas Woman’s University in second with a team score of 194.50. Lindenwood rounded out the top three spots with a 194.250.

ISU’s Kristlyn Bossle claimed the individual all-around title with a score of 39.075. Emily Turik of Lindendwood finished second with a score of 39.025 with Alyssa Tucker from SEMO in third with a 39.0
