Strickler, Gents lead after first day of Hal Sutton Intercollegiate

BOSSIER CITY, La. – Hank Strickler and the Centenary men’s golf team sit atop the leader board after the first day of the Hal Sutton Intercollegiate. Strickler fired a 71 in the opening round while the Gents shot a 301.

Reese Chance is second on the team for the Maroon and White with a 76 in the opening round placing him in a tie for eighth. Jamie Gibson, Jesper Thorsoe and Larry Balthazar are all tied for 13th to round out the Centenary maroon grouping.

The Gents’ white team sits in ninth with a 352 led by Cory Costanza with a 77 in the first round. Christopher Cates is in 42nd with a 90 while John Sidery and Arni Sigurdsson complete the team with a 92 (43rd) and 93 (44th) respectively.

Paris Community College is eight strokes back of the Gents in second with Tyler Junior College in third with 312 in the opening round.

Zac Oliver and Skye Mejia are tied for second with a 73 after the first day.

The final round of the intercollegiate is scheduled for tomorrow with an 8:30 start.
