Centenary in third after first round of LeTourneau Spring Classic

LONGVIEW, Texas – The Centenary women’s golf team sits in third place after the first round of the LeTourneau Spring Classic with a score of 345. The Ladies are 13 strokes back of Tyler Junior College in second place. California Lutheran leads the pack with a 317 on the first day.

Jamie Wright leads the Maroon and White with a first day score of 80 in fifth place. Wright is two strokes back of the leader Jenna Gimbel from California Lutheran and one stroke back of CLU’s Hannah Purdy and Danika Cochiolo and TJC’s Saraid Ruiz.

Taylor Thompson is tied for eighth with Rebecca Bostrom of TJC with an opening day score of 82. Sarah Bradshaw shot a first round-87 to sit in 15th and round out the top three players for the Ladies in the top 20.

Jessica Thigpen is tied for 22nd after shooting a 96 in the first round while Kylee Goldthorn is 26th after posting a 100 in the opening round.

Final round of the LETU Spring Classic is scheduled for 8:30 a.m.
