Gents fourth after first two rounds of the LeTourneau Spring Classic

LONGVIEW, Texas – The Centenary men’s golf team finished the second round of the LeTourneau Spring Classic shooting a 305 placing the Gents in fourth after the first two rounds. The squad is one stroke back of Oklahoma Wesleyan in third and three strokes behind Mississippi College in second place.

Jesper Thorsoe, who was tied for the team lead after the opening round with a 76, shot a 69 in the second round to surge to the No. 2 spot overall and sit six strokes back of Jack Cersosimo from Concordia (Texas) University.

Reese Chance and Jamie Gibson reside in a three-way for 16th after the opening two rounds with an overall score of 156. Chance shot a 79 in the first round and followed with a 77 for his two-round total while Gibson shot an 80 in the second round to pair with his 76 in the opening round.

Hank Strickler completed the first two rounds with a score of 158 placing him in a four-way tie for 20th. Strickler shot an 80 in the second round after tying for the team lead alongside Thorsoe in the first round with a 76.

Larry Balthazar withdrew in the first round, but shot a 79 in the second round. Centenary’s Cory Constanza competed as an individual and finished the first, two rounds with a 178 (90-88) to place him in 49th.

Final round of the LETU Spring Classic is slated for an 8:30 a.m. start.
