Ladies finish third at LeTourneau Spring Classic

LONGVIEW, Texas – The Centenary women’s golf team finished third out of field of eight at the LeTourneau University Spring Classic. The Ladies shot a two-day total of 678 including a 333 in the final round.

Taylor Thompson paced the Maroon and White with 158 to finish tied for third with California Lutheran’s Jenna Gimbel and Danika Cochiolo. Thompson improved her first round total by six strokes to gather a 76 in the final round.

Jamie Wright finished in 10th after shooting an 86 in the final round for a two-round score of 166. Sarah Bradshaw shot a 172 for the tournament including an 85 in the final day knocking two strokes off her first day score to finish 13th.

Jessica Thigpen shot a 182 for the tournament after bettering her first day score by 10 strokes with an 86 to finish 17th. Kylee Goldthorn rounded out the Centenary team finishing tied for 24th with Halie Hanson from Oklahoma Wesleyan. Goldthorn shot a 196 for the tournament including a 96 on the final round.

Tyler Junior College took the first two spots of the individuals with Saraid Ruiz in first with a 151 and Rebecca Bostrom shooting a 155. Tyler JC also claimed the team’s top spot with a 631 for the tournament with CLU in second with a 642.

Centenary returns to the links on Monday, Apr. 21 as the Ladies compete in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships in Spicewood, Texas.
