Gymnastics adds White to 2014-15 roster

SHREVEPORT, La. – Centenary women’s gymnastics coach Jackie Fain announced that Ashley White completed the necessary paperwork and deposit with intent to attend Centenary College of Louisiana.

"We are so excited to welcome Ashley to our family.  She brings not only a high level of gymnastics to our team, but she also brings a strong passion for gymnastics, an incredible amount of enthusiasm and a desire to become an outstanding member of the Centenary community. Along with her dynamic gymnastics, Ashley also possess our program's core values, including loyalty, integrity, commitment and determination," said Fain. "Ashley just has a passion that glows from within, I know she will give everything she has every day and will continue to become an even more remarkable athlete and person. You can see that she has a deep love for gymnastics and a fire that will propel her, I look forward to watching her progress through-out her career. She has so many intangible qualities that will have a positive impact on this team."

White comes to Centenary from Houston, Texas where she was a member of Juergen’s Gymnastics Academy under Juergen Achterman. White has been a USA Gymnastics State qualifier since 2008, a USAG Level 10 Region III qualifier since 2011 and was a 2009 USAG Western National qualifier in Region II. White has participated in the 2012 and 2014 USAG National Training Camp program.

She was the 2014 Galveston Island Winter Beach Blast All-Around Champion finishing first in floor, beam, bars and vault; finished second on beam and third on floor at the 2014 Alamo Classic Invitational and was second in all-round and first in bars at the 2014 Houston National Invitational.

White plans to major in Biology and pursue a career in Physical Therapy.
