Netters fall to ETBU

SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary tennis teams dropped a pair of matches on Thursday evening to East Texas Baptist University. The Ladies fell 7-2 with the Gents falling in straight sets.

Katelyn Alexander gathered both of the Ladies points as she won her singles match 6-3, 6-4 over Caitlin Alverson. Alexander also teamed with Katie Cornwell to notch an 8-6 victory at the No. 2 doubles spot. Cornwell forced her singles slot into three games before falling 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 to Kali Kipp.

Ashley McHugh also went into three games in singles action falling 6-4, 4-6, 1-0. The pairing of Celia Sobelman and Nicole Martinez fell 8-5 in doubles action.

Cameron Bueche and Kane Kershaw each fell 6-0, 6-1 in singles action while the team of Jordan Sangalli and Zachary Provenza dropped an 8-1 decision in doubles. Chris Matthews also gained a point for the Maroon and White falling 8-1 in singles action.

Centenary returns to action on Saturday, Apr. 12 as the squads visit Louisiana College. Match time is slated for 2 p.m.
