SEGUIN, Texas – The Centenary softball team dropped a pair of contests to Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference leader Texas Lutheran on Friday evening. The Ladies fell 8-0 and 14-0 to the Bulldogs to move to 5-25 overall and 5-13 in SCAC action. TLU improves to 27-7 and 19-1.

Centenary totaled seven hits in the double dip including five in the opener led by Erin Crites’ multiple hit performance. Nicole Warren, Cadie Hancock and Emma Viskozki each tallied a hit in the first contest with Mookie Allison and Lynsi Unruh gathering the two hits on the second outing.

Unruh (5-14) was saddled with the two decisions for the Maroon and White. The senior tossed all five frames in the first contest allowing the eight runs on nine hits with two strikeouts and a walk. Unruh tossed 2.0 innings in the start of the night cap giving up 10 runs on nine hits with three walks. Laura Perriloux pitched the final 2.0 innings allowing four runs on six hits with a walk.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 5-0 lead in their first trip to the plate in the opener and added three runs in the fourth to secure the victory. TLU used an eight-run, third inning in the second affair en route to claiming the doubleheader.

The two squads meet again on Saturday in the final doubleheader of the weekend. First pitch is slated for Noon.
