LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Centenary’s Aaron Quintanilla was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week for his efforts this weekend against Austin College as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Quintanilla posted a team-best .500 batting average while tying for the team lead in hits with six and recording five RBI – second most on the team. Half of the freshman’s hits went for extra bases including back-to-back triples in the 13-run inning for the Maroon and White in the second game of the series. Quintanilla tallied multiple hits in all three contests.

The series sweep of the ‘Roos placed the Gents in second place in the conference heading into the final weekend.

On the campaign, Quintanilla ranks second in the SCAC in on-base percentage, fourth in batting average, triples, stolen bases and walks and eighth in slugging percentage.

The Houston, Texas, native joins Nic Parrott as the other Gent to receive the conference’s weekly award this season.

Centenary hosts SCAC leader Trinity this weekend in a three-game series. First pitch Friday is slated for 6 p.m. with the Saturday doubleheader scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
