Wright leads after first round of SCAC Women's Golf Championships; Ladies fourth

BOERNE, Texas – The Centenary women’s golf team leads sits fourth after the first round of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships with a 337. Jamie Wright leads the pack after the opening day with a 75 one stroke better than Southwestern’s Ali Walden in second.

The Ladies opening round is four strokes back of Schreiner University in third.

Wright’s opening round score is her best score of the season surpassing her 78 in the final round of the TWU Tournament to open the season.

Sarah Bradshaw is in 14th after shooting an 85 in the first round with teammate Taylor Thompson just one stroke back in 15th.

Jessica Thigpen is tied for 17th with a 91 on the opening day. Kylee Goldthorn rounds out the group with a 92 in 20th. Goldthorn’s round is her best since shooting an 85 at the Birmingham Southern Shootout in October.

Southwestern leads the teams with a 318 while Trinity in second with 323.
