SHREVEPORT, La. – Centenary women’s soccer coach David Orr announced that Emily Duet and Riley Spudic completed the necessary paperwork and deposit with intent to attend Centenary College of Louisiana. Duet comes to Centenary from Central Lafourche High School in Raceland, La., while Spudic is a New Tech High at Coppell in Coppell, Texas.

Duet was a three-time, all-district performer for the Green and Gold. A member of the 2014 Louisiana High School Athletic Association’s Academic All-State Division I Team, she plans to major in education. Duet is the sister of former Gents’ goalkeeper Chase Duet who just completed his career for the Maroon and White.

“Emily is a high quality athlete and a much needed addition to the Ladies soccer squad,” said Orr. “Emily is considered an outside midfielder/defender with good speed and soccer IQ. Not only does she come from a great family, her older brother a former Gent's player and captain, she is a quality leader and person. We are excited to have Emily join the Centenary soccer family and we know her contribution will be immediate.”

Spudic was honorable mention, all-district selection and helped lead the Cowgirls to the region semifinals with a 9-4-6 record her senior season. She was a member of the A-B honor roll.

“Riley is an impressive player, with exceptional soccer IQ,” Orr stated. “Her tenacity as a defender makes her an imposing player and her athleticism is top form. Riley brings the Ladies soccer program a load of talent.”
