SHREVEPORT, La. – Centenary men’s basketball head coach Adam Walsh announced that Travion Kirkendoll completed the necessary paperwork and deposit with intent to attend Centenary College of Louisiana. Kirkendoll comes to Centenary from Lakeview Junior-Senior High School in Campti, La.

"We are excited to have Travion join our team. His overall character will be a great fit for Centenary and our program," said Walsh "We are excited to add someone of his athletic ability at guard to this program and help us compete in the conference. He brings a winning and competitive mindet to this program which is always a plus."

Kirkendoll averaged a double-double his senior season in helping lead the Gators to the Class 2A championship game. He tallied 13 points in the state championship game as LHS finished runner-up. The dual-sport athlete was named District MVP and was a first-team all-state selection on the hardwood. Kirkendoll, who also competed in track and field for the Green and Orange, was also named All-Cenla and all-area.

The 6-3, guard, was the class valedictorian was named to the all-academic team along with being named Mr. Lakeview and Rotary Club Student of the Month. Kirkendoll plans to major in Business Administration at Centenary.

"There's a level above home that I'm going after, home being where mom and dad reside and where the Gents reside," Kirkendoll stated. "Being that there's nothing to describe my home except for me to call it home, it's simply a place where I know for a fact, my gentlemen family won't leave me standing alone."

Kirkendoll's high school head coach Joshua Hancock said of his former player, "In regards of Tray and Centenary I say that God puts special people in special places for special reasons, so that in the end he'll be glorified in each of his seasons."

The addition of Kirkendoll continues a tradition of local products as he joins Brandon Campbell, James Sapp and former Gents' standout Jonathan Blount.
