SHREVEPORT, La. – Eleven contests at Mayo Field headline the 29-match, 2014 slate for the Centenary women’s soccer team. The Ladies open with four of the first six outings being held on their home field including six in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Centenary opens the campaign with six, non-conference affairs before opening conference play at Texas Lutheran on Sept. 19. The Ladies open the season with back-to-back dates at LeTourneau (Aug. 29) and at East Texas Baptist (Aug. 30).

The Maroon and White follow the road swing with four straight dates at Mayo Field starting with Wiley College on Sept. 2. The Ladies also host Howard Payne (Sept.6), the Ozarks (Sept. 12) and Hendrix (Sept. 14) during the season-long homestand.

“I'm extremely pleased with our 2014 schedule and excited to build on last year's success following a heartbreaking overtime loss in the SCAC quarterfinals,” said head coach David Orr. “Our non-conference schedule is competitive and provides a great platform for the Ladies to both find success and build as we go into the SCAC schedule.

“Coach Glenn Evans, who is the architect of the fall 2014 schedule, put together a great home vs. away schedule to allow for a great opportunity for success! Five of the seven non-conference matches are at home and we are very excited about this.”

The TLU contest is the first of 10 straight conference dates for the Ladies. Centenary’s first, home SCAC outing comes on Sept. 26 against Dallas followed by a match with Austin College on Sept. 28. The 10-game span holds home and away outings between Dallas, Trinity, Southwestern, and Austin College. Centenary hosts TLU and Schreiner to close out the season.

“The SCAC portion of the schedule will be challenging. Dwayne Hanberry, the SCAC Commissioner, put together a fair and challenging schedule that I think is great for our program. We are planning for a successful 2014 season,” Orr stated.

The SCAC Championships are slated for Nov. 7-9 at a site to be determined.
