LONGVIEW, Texas – The Centenary women’s soccer team dropped a 3-0 affair at LeTourneau to open the 2014 season. The YellowJackets improve to 1-0.

The Ladies (0-1) attempted eight shots in the contest with five coming on goal. Freshman Riley Spudic started her Centenary career leading the team with three shots including placing two on target.

Carly Slovensky, Emily Duet, Marissa Hughes, Hannah Jo Wright and Madison Alexander each registered an attempt in the contest.

Lauren Cullen (0-1) drew the start between the pipes recording 12 saves – one shy of her career-high set Oct. 13, 2013 against Southwestern.

Stephanie Vana paced a LETU attack that took 26 shots in the contest. Vana, who led the team with 11 shots, collected all three goals for the Blue and Gold. The La Verne, Calif., native notched two scores in the first half and added her third in the 51st minute.

Jamie Aguillen took the win in net for the Jackets with fives saves.

Centenary returns to action on Saturday, Aug. 30 as the Ladies travel to East Texas Baptist. Kick is slated for 5 p.m.
