SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary women’s soccer team fell 3-0 on Saturday afternoon to Howard Payne moving the Ladies to 0-4 on the season. HPU improves to 1-3 on the campaign.

The Yellow Jackets posted a stout defense in the 90-minute affair holding the Maroon and White to only four shots in the affair. Laurie Priftis, Madison Alexander, Hannah Jo Wright and Marissa Hughes also attempted shots in the contest for theLadies.

The trio of Taylor Bicknell, Rachel Crane and Samantha Mullins accounted for all three HPU scores with Bicknell’s and Crane’s coming in the opening half. Mullins tacked on her score in the 59’ off an assist from Priscilla Jamaica. Alex Bernal set up Crane’s score in the contest.

HPU attempted 22 shots on the day with Marley Zochert and Bicknell leading the way with four shots each.

Erica Coker (0-3) took the loss in net for the Ladies while recording seven saves in the effort.

Kelsie Piland stood as the winner in goal for the Yellow Jackets tallying three saves in the win.

Centenary returns to action on Friday, Sept. 12 as the Ladies host the University of the Ozarks. Kick is slated for 5 p.m.
